Westminster Wins SLIAC Title, To Host Tournament

Fulton, Mo. – The Westminster College women's basketball team defeated Eureka College 82-71 Saturday to capture its second consecutive St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title. The Blue Jays (20-4, 14-2 SLIAC) will host the SLIAC tournament next Friday and Saturday.
Junior Hannah Kloster (Springfield, Mo./Parkview) came off the bench to score 23 points. Senior Rachel Backes (Tipton, Mo./Tipton) finished with 17 points and six rebounds, and sophomore Leigh Ann Lutz (California, Mo./California) added 16 points. Senior Heather Letourneau (Smithton, Mo./Smithton) tallied seven points and senior Liz Klaffenbach (Battle Ground, Wash./Prairie) added six points in their final regular-season games. Khassandrae Brown netted 23 points to lead Eureka (19-4, 12-3 SLIAC).
