Lee Leads Westminster Men To 65-58 SLIAC Win

Fulton, Mo. – Freshman Verdis Lee (Fulton, Mo./Fulton) scored a career-high 27 points in leading the Westminster College men’s basketball team to a 65-58 win in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) action Wednesday.

The Blue Jays (10-9, 7-4 SLIAC) trailed 25-24 at halftime and exchanged the lead with Webster (9-10, 9-1 SLIAC) five times before going ahead for good 57-55 with under three minutes remaining on a 3-pointer by junior Joe Prophet (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City), who finished with 20 points and eight rebounds. Stefan Whittingham tallied 19 points and 15 rebounds for Webster, which suffered its first conference loss of the season.
